For myself, 2018 had plenty of ups and downs. From fighting my own path to success to overcoming it and succeeding, I am thankful for every challenge, lesson, and opportunity that came my way. Without these lessons, I wouldn’t be able to grow as an individual and push myself even higher for the year to come.
Here is what positively happened in 2018;
1. My first Ford World Women’s Curling Championship!
On March 23, 2018, I had the pleasure to hop in a car with my parents and drive 6 hours to North Bay, Ontario where we witness a couple of games during the weekend. I had the pleasure to see our Canadian team dominant on the ice against so many amazing teams as well.
2. GO Jays GO
On April 1, 2018, I pushed through my fear of flying and made my way to Toronto, Ontario with a couple of my friends. From visiting the downtown arena to seeing the Steam Whistle brewery and finally cheer on the Blue Jays at my very first game.
3. 1st year celebration of A Mundane World
As 2018 comes to an end I have to say that I am proud of myself to have achieved one year on our site (there might have been some ups and downs, but we pushed through).
4. Showcasing my love for art
One thing that I wanted to work on in 2018 was to come out of my comfort zone and that’s when I decided to sign myself up for an art exhibition in April 2019. Hey, I am still dead scared to showcase all my work to the rest of the community but its time. (Do one thing a day that scares you!)
5. Landed a Dream Career
After a year of trial and error, I have finally found my footing in something that makes me happy. I had the pleasure of exploring and exceeding my talents by creating events, marketing/advertising strategies, networking and more with my hometown Chamber of Commerce.
6. New House, New Responsibilities
Ok, so, yup this happened, I bought a house!! At the age of 23, all by myself, with my own money, I can finally say I am a proud homeowner since October 2018.
7. The Family Grew by One
I had the pleasure of growing my little family by one this October. Let me introduce you to Gunner, a husky mix Chocolate Labrador puppy!
